Hi. I have a Toshiba Qosmio x305-q705 laptop. I had a blue screen a couple months back and brought it to PC repair shop. They attributed it to a RAM problem and so they replaced one they said had corrosion on it with a new one. Okay, so then a few weeks back I had another blue screen which was talking about page fault found in non page area or something to that effect. So back to the PC repair shop. They told us it was nothing, they just didn’t reset the RAM with the battery? Okay so I’ve been noticing that my computer seems a bit slower, not sure if it’s in my head or not but I checked the system properties and it says I only have 2 GB of RAM. To the best of my knowledge, my computer came with 4GB of RAM. So here is my question, if for some reason they only put in 2GB of RAM in there would it change the system properties to 2 or let’s say there were 4GB’s and they took out some, would the system properties change back to 2 from 4GB’s? I am sorry I am trying to explain this the best that I can. Also, I would like to know how I could go about checking their work….where would I have to look inside my laptop to see if I have the right equipment in there? Thank to anyone who can help. I really appreciate it.
You guys have been great. I opened up the back of the laptop and there is a memory card in there that says 2GB and then there is a slot next to it that’s empty, but I don’t know if anything was supposed to go in there or not. But nonetheless I’m so upset right now. My g/f is telling me to be calm and they probably just made a mistake, but for this being the third time I’m bringing it in…forgive me if I’m a little hysterical. : (
