@jefferybarnes I …
@jefferybarnes I remove rust by soaking in vinegar I initially clean them with soap and water rinse then dry coat with lard or veg oil then reseason in the oven my pans sit flat. Pans with bellys in them have been over heated or cooled too fast causing warpage. After use i fill them with water and boil the water in them boiling water and steam are used for sterilization incase you didn’t know that since you’ve been in the woods so long and out of touch with civilization.

the only way you would remove the seasoning is if you were to sandblast it to bare metal, use electrolysis on it or burn it off with a self cleaning oven or wood stove. Your probably one of those people that have so much crud built up on your skillets that their gooy. I’ve seen quite a few of the sticky ones and than there’s the ones that don’t sit flat because of all the build up on the bottoms. nothing like a meal flavored with 20 year old grease and build up

After washing with …
After washing with Dishsoap, heat the pan on medium and coat it with oil and heat for 5 mins. Then rince the pan with warm water and dry with a Paper towel. The oil keeps the pores from forming more rust and protects it. Bacon grease works well too.

CORRECTION: She said wash it out like a regular pot or pan… NO only wash it with warm water…you want to keep oil in the pores as long as possibly… dish soap will cause more rust.
