I spilled glycolic acid on my marble counter a year ago and although I cleaned it up, it began corroding, forming crusty white mineral deposits. I’ve scraped and used cleaning products (soap is supposed to be a neutralizer) but the deposits just form again. Any suggestions on how to stop this corrosion will be appreciated.
try using an alkali to neutralize the acid(soda crystals)
use a very dilute solution at first on a small piece to see if there is an adverse reaction.
some of the acid must still be present even though you have tried to wash it out
