Looks like the sites where the cables connect to my car batter have some corrosion (like a foam). How much will it cost to fix/replace?
(is it safe to fix on my own? Isn’t it likely there’s some permanant damage that will require the cables to be replaced?)
(will I need to disconnect the battery from the car? Seriously, i don’t know anything about cars at all)
Don’t buy any ingredients lol baking soda, coca cola, pepsi . haha
Even though this may help it won’t fix it completely.
Just visit you local autozone or auto part store and buy the positive/and negative connectors.
Gold plate, less than 5 dollars. ^.^

Take some baking soda and a little water and work it in around the terminals with an old toothbrush and you are good to go.
To do this properly you need to loosen and remove the cable clamps from the terminals.
Baking soda and water is all you need to clean them.

The cost of one can of Coca Cola. Pour it onto the corrosion and watch it disappear.

coke or pepsi also works its really easy with baking soda too though. Cup put the bakin soda in the cup add water and pour over the terminals

You can clean it yourself with baking soda and water. It will fizz up, eating all the corrosion. Keep cleaning it until it quits foaming up, then rinse well with water!

You can use coke or baking soda, but you can also go to autozone, advanced auto parts or anywhere like that and get a battery terminal cleaner for about 2 dollars. You can use the brushes in it to clean both the battery and the connecters

normally u buy a Spray Can of Battery Post Cleaner at ur local auto store. Cost bout $5.00 . Follow the instructions printed on the back. Which is spray, let it set in for a few minutes, then wash off with water. Also it would be a good time to check the Water Level of your Battery. To do this lift the 2 plastic covers on the top of the battery (can use a Flat Screw driver) and take a look at the level. Look at the 3 holes under each cover flap, and u should see the water level just underneath the end of each hole (bout 1/2 inch from the top). If the water level is low refill with "Distilled Water" not normal/regular water. The reason u use Distilled Water in the battery is because it is less acidic. Distilled water can be found at a local grocery store. Or you can ask for it at your local auto store, if they dont have it they should know where it can be purchased (cost a few dollars).

you could use brake cleaner and spray them. or take it to a shop and pay about $25.
