Surfer Rust Alert

Other than waves and surfboards, surfers have a lot more issues to face and tackle – rust problems. When surfing is your hobby and you love to wham your board in salty sea water quite so often, expect to see rust stains in any time. The salty water which sets in contact with your board makes it perfectly vulnerable to rust. What do you need to do to prevent this from happening?

  1. Before you even buy your own board, learn at least one proven rust removal first aid trick. Why first aid? More often than not, surfing camps are a long drive from the city. If you intend to stay in the camp for 3 weeks, you can’t just drive back to the city for the nearest store selling rust removers. To give you a bonus trick, nail polish usually work as an effective first aid rust trick. Simply apply the nail polish on the rusty area and you would get by.
  2. Invest on quality. Choose your board very carefully. There are a lot of rust-free surf boards in the market today. While, it is true that they could cause quite hefty, just bear in mind that you’re paying for quality. However, do not rely too much on the rust-free marketing. Yes, it’s true that some companies really products rust-free products. However, to be extra careful, always keep your beneficial rust products with you. Once you suspect rust stains, apply some on your board right away. As mentioned, the salty water makes your boards vulnerable to rusting.
  3. After every use or during off-wave seasons, store your surf boards properly. Keep your boards dry and store them in a well ventilated room to ensure that there’s less moisture.
  4. Keep your safety and health a priority. Most commercial cleaners can be harmful to you. These cleaners can cause a wide range of hazards to your health. Keep your body healthy all the time by using awesome green cleaning products . These products have been proven to be effective but also certified harmless.
