I have a new baby that is teething. That is how i forgot to go back and finish the cleaning.
I presume it is a manual, and all metal, and heavy.(not electric)
Take to bits and scrub off meat bits and gunk with dry scourer, brush ( or steel wool) Then rather than WD-40 use eucalyptus oil all over it with spray, or rag, let ‘soak in’ for a while and scour of remaining muck.Rub over the eucalyptus oil, on rag, and it will be clean and sanitised. wipe remaing oil clear with rags. gently wash in soapy water and dry as much as possible. Use sunlight, or hair dryer or very low oven to ensure completlety dry. Reassemble. Put thru’ the mincer some dry /stale bread to absorb any left over oil or cleaners. Shake/ wipe out all crumbs. And store in dry aired place.
Each time you use it, when putting out what you are mincing, put some dry/ day old bread next to stuff. So as soon as you have minced, you put a few slices thru, this absorbs moisture and carries muck out of it , leaving it ready for next use.
Then take baby outside and feed birds the crumbs after lunch ! !

Apply White Vinegar to the rust and leave on all night then scrub with a little sprinkle of Baking Soda
Or you can use Barkeepers brand cleanser to remove the rust
WD-40 can be used also to remove rust, just spray on and leave for about one hour then scrub with a piece of steelwool then wash off residue in hot water and dishwashing liquid and dry thoroughly
Good Luck !
