How to remove rust from pocket knife

The traditional way

1.First, remove the dirt off from your knife. You can do so by cleaning it with a soft-bristled brush or a soft cloth. You may use a lightweight oil to make the cleaning process easier. Do not use water. This will just encourage rust to occur.

2.Remove all remaining rust stains by applying a coat of oil. Allow the oil to set on the knife for several days. Wipe the knife using a soft cloth until it is clean. 3.Apply a new coat of oil. This time, you work it well using a clean cloth. Wipe all the excess oil and leave a thinner coat for protection of the blade.
4.All stubborn rust deposits may be removed using white vinegar. Soak a cloth of white vinegar then apply it on the blade. Dry the blade thoroughly afterward and coat it with oil to prevent further damage.

Another old home remedy is by inserting the knife blade into a raw potato. Allow it to set overnight. The next morning, you can remove the knife and clean it with soft cloth.

The fast and easy modern way

The fastest and most effective way to remove rust is actually a lot easier and faster than what is efficient rust remover productpresented above.
