well, those patch …
well, those patch panels look similar to the fairlane ’62 panels that im gonna be buying soon. but listen, i need some help finding a source to either a reproduction hood, metal or fiberglass, or from a parts car and is in good enough shape that sheet metal work isnt a huge deal.

if you know anyone/any place that has a parts car of a 62 fairlane 500, or that makes reproduction hoods thor this car, please let me know? i need a hood pretty badly. the one on mine is a bondo job around the latch.

swrnc August 6, 2010 at 9:36 pm

I don’t recommend …
I don’t recommend dipping a car. First of all it will eat everything, including the factory seam sealer right out of the car, it also takes the factory electroplate sealer off the metal. When you get your car back it will look like SWISS CHEESE, due to the fact that the longer it stays in the acid bath the more metal it eats away. You will NEVER be able to repaint all the inside area’s that are stripped to metal. It is a real mess… DON”T DO IT-Strip your car by hand with airplace stripper!
