@MissPandora1967 … @MissPandora1967 lol I dream of still being as crazy as I am now when I am well past 43. And I agree, my look is DEFINETELY not from Walmart XD lol
P.S. DEATH TO EMO KID POSEURS… that is all
@InuKiba1 … @InuKiba1 Absoluetly my friend, thankyou for the friend thingy…I am still a wild child at 43 !! I loved the Sisters …still make alot of my own stuff..who wants to look like everyone else..these emo+goth kids literally buy it off the peg,out of the shop..even f*cking Walmart have this stuff ..we;ll they do in the UK..lol..thanks my friend..Sophie xx
@MissPandora1967 … @MissPandora1967 I’m glad you share the same view. EVERYTHING in this generation is making everything from back then seem easy to follow. Which is a huge contradiction. And that was another thing you mentioned about identity. Since anyone can get the look, it’s no longer original. But since the very point of it all is to be original, none of them really live up to the culture.
@InuKiba1 yep I … @InuKiba1 yep I agree totally with you…as young’ens I’m 43,we where labelled as hippie/goths..we wore a riot of rainbow by day..the boys still wore make up+we all had BIG hair.come night time glammed up to death,velvet,lace+rubber..but we didnt do it seriously..our release. We all read Huxley,Burroughs,Allen Poe+where mad Hammer Horror freaks ,we all still are,,
But we identified with being “ourselves” made our own clothes etc,The kids now buy “readymade” off the peg stuff, boring no identity
@ … @00000thatoneguy00000 thats right. Eldritch mentioned in an interview “a pair of black socks is all you need to truly display goth subculture” He obviously is referring to his view (shared by me) that people of the goth subculture often overdo it and take the display way too far. That is the reason why he dislikes the subculture
@CynicalMachine … @CynicalMachine They actually are considered a Gothic Rock band, but Eldritch’s attitude towards the subculture really tries to prove otherwise. Nowadays his shows are really just kinda pathetic… But let’s be honest here, compare the lyrical quality and general sound to like Bauhaus, Siouxsie, Screams for Tina, 13th Chime, etc. They really are quite similar to other Goth Rock bands.
But you’re right, I don’t know of any bands off the top of my head that tried to copy them.
ToTP – what a joke! … ToTP – what a joke! used to watch it for a laugh but now I look back there were awesome songs like this which I missed 1st time round. Classic tune.
Don’t get me wrong, … Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this song BUT this video is one of the WORST LIP SYNCING videos that I’ve ever seen. By the 1 minute mark it becomes a joke & unwatchable so I never finished it : ( I’ll just listen to the audio & use my imagination insted
@RubenvonZwack Like … @RubenvonZwack Like I’ve said, I really appreciate the “Floodland era”. But, think with me.. What about the old days? Around 85′, ‘FALAW’ time and early? The classic concert at Royal Albert Hall.. The early songs like Body and Soul, Fix, Body Eletric, etc. Anyway, what I wanna say, is that was a inspiration right there! More valours beyond fame or cash. Just the basics, the soul. But that’s ok. Evolution happens! Like I really appreciate songs like “Susanne”, “Crash & Burn”.. =)
@MellyssaT playback … @MellyssaT playback was required in 80s pop shows, it has nothing to do with the Sisters!
I think they are doing a fierce job there
What about the ” … What about the “beauty-shinning” Patricia? Nothing more than a puppet for cash’n fame of Sisters. Look at the playback act in this one. Anyway, Floodland deserves some much respect. Reverences for the true Sisters, not the “$adly-playback appearences” like in this piece. =/
to all som-fans: … to all som-fans: does anybody know something about the promised “new” album (since 17 years or so)? i guess he still doesn’t need the money hard enough. although i would spent it if it was coming true…
